Position: School Superintendent

The Glenburn School Department seeks a veteran educational leader with expertise in instructional leadership at the building or district level and proven communication and collaboration skills to start July 1, 2020. Experience in supervision and evaluation required. Knowledge of budget development and school finance preferred.

Qualifications: Certification held as a Superintendent of Schools; expertise in instructional leadership, supervision, and evaluation.

Professional Responsibilities:

Shared Vision: Promote and monitor sustainable student growth as outlined in the Glenburn School Department Strategic Plan.

Culture of Learning: Create and sustain a positive learning environment that uses best practices to encourage high levels of learning for every child.

Instructional Leadership: Maintain distributed leadership model through high levels of input, collaboration, and communication with building-based leadership and staff members, as aligned with the strategic plan.Fiscal Management: Develop and monitor a fiscally responsible budget that aligns with student and community needs.

Family and Community: Collaborate and communicate with the Glenburn Community to build productive relationships and plan for and respond to diverse community needs.

Ethics: Conduct school district business with integrity and fairness, using ethical behavior in all situations in order to promote success for every student and respect for staff.

Societal Context: Advocate for Glenburn students and their families and spearhead the creation of policies that guide school improvement initiatives.

Terms of Employment: Calendar year, part-time, flexible hours TBD. Salary and benefits to be established by the Glenburn School Board as per negotiated contractual agreement.
