Coronavirus Update

Dear Glenburn Parents & Guardians:

As the Coronavirus continues to be a topic of concern, we want to assure the public that Glenburn School does have a Pandemic Plan in place. The plan will largely be dictated by State, community, and family impact with the current COVID-19 virus – this includes risk and possible exposure. At this point, the Glenburn School has no immediate concerns, but we want families and the community to feel comfortable that a plan is in place should we need to implement anything going further. We continue to seek guidance and direction from the Maine Department of Education and the Centers for Disease Control. As a precautionary measure, we are asking that when students are called in ill, please indicate if they have had a temperature greater than 100℉ or have exhibited any respiratory symptoms, including cough.

At this point we do not feel the need to saturate you with statistics or the details that surround the COVID-19 virus as this information is accessible via the web, television, and newspaper. Should we feel that mass communication is necessary, we would initiate use of our alert system that is already in place – many of you already receive notifications via this system regarding snow days and other school alerts.

Regards,

Lorrie Springer, RN – School Nurse

Angela Pratt – Curriculum Coordinator/Principal

Robyn Hernandez -Assistant Principal

Christine Boone – Superintendent
